3D Scanning Gallery
Below are some examples of our 3D scanning capabilities. The initial result of a 3D scan is a point cloud. A point cloud is an array of XYZ coordinates, typically high density, that represent the geometry of the object scanned in three-dimensional space. Point clouds can be viewed directly but are more commonly depicted as a polygonal mesh. The mesh typically consists of triangular facets in which the boundary lines comprising the facets are common to lines connecting adjoining points. A 3D mesh can be used directly for prototyping or inspection, and CAD geometry can also be generated from the mesh (also see Solid Modeling in the Gallery for examples of this 3D CAD geometry).
