Q-PLUS Labs is already working towards minimizing our environmental impact through sustainable business practices in our daily operations. In these continued efforts Q-PLUS Labs is pleased to share that our company ranked in the top 5% percent for companies of our size and industry when evaluated by EcoVadis; the leader in Business Sustainability Ratings.
What at first seemed like an arduous process, turned into something that everyone in the company was happy to work towards and quickly got on board with. Further, due to our own efforts prior to working with Ecovadis, we were pleased to find that we were already following the best practices of sustainability in many areas to help make us eco-friendly. We find that efforts that relate to environmentally/socially conscious practices are good ways to run a company.
Q-PLUS Lab’s Logistics Coordinator long ago implemented a facility recycling policy and program. Many new ideas followed, only to become larger company wide efforts such as: dramatically reducing printing for internal purposes, installing energy saving environmental controls, and more. For example, we recently put a film coating on the roof of our building, that not only reduces the need for maintenance, but also significantly lowers our electricity costs for air conditioning. We also realized that the lighting retrofit we had done could be further retrofitted with LED bulbs that further reduce energy consumption and of course save cost. Since the LED lights last so much longer, there’s also time and effort saved to boot.
We are proud to continually improve our systems as a responsible company working towards the greater good. We believe even the smallest of efforts matter.
