The scientific and medical communities are working diligently to understand the virus that causes COVID-19. The challenges posed are significant, and the “race to a cure” is of critical importance to science and for all of us. Q-PLUS Labs is honored to be part of this effort and is working closely with several top scientific and medical companies at the forefront of testing and finding a cure, or at the very least, a vaccine for COVID-19.

With the return of rising infection rates and troubled economies, the pandemic’s unknown long-term effects on the global community are not yet fully understood. It is more important than ever to support scientists and medical experts working to improve testing to more accurately make the diagnosis; to develop effective treatments, and to develop a vaccine to prevent this disease once and for all.

In response to this challenge, Q-PLUS Labs has ramped up operations throughout the company to help these critical scientific and medical clients by assisting them with the high-volume requirements for dimensional inspection and testing. Efforts include increasing workload, improving laboratory inspection cycle times for the corresponding higher quantities, larger lot sizes, and increased number of lots, extending work hours, and expanding staff in vital areas to support their needs.

The critical imperative of maintaining accuracy and quality for inspection at high volume under increased demand for accelerated deliveries cannot be understated, as many of the components we are inspecting are directly related to machines, systems, and one-time-use cartridges used for COVID-19 screening and testing for the public.  COVID-19 testing is, of course, crucial to tracking and controlling the spread of the virus. Beyond this effort, we’re proud to provide our services for the critical work these scientists and medical companies are doing behind the scenes to learn more about the virus, increase public testing, develop and deploy vaccines, and create evidence-based policy intended to reduce community transmission.

As the global pandemic permeates through the nation and the world, all of us should recognize and thank our doctors and their colleagues — the millions of selfless and courageous healthcare workers serving at the forefront of the fight against this insidious virus. We salute public health workers who play an important role in responding to this pandemic. Let us remember to thank our physicians, nurses, and all healthcare workers and support staff who are risking their own health to care for the most vulnerable among us. They truly deserve our support and we are proud to make a positive contribution.

We would also like to acknowledge other essential frontline workers, including government workers, first responders, and the many people keeping services like sanitation, grocery stores, food service, public transit, schools, telecommunications, infrastructure, and more up and running. Thank you to all the people who are working to save lives and keep communities safe during this pandemic.
